Stephanie quit her day job as a background singer and guitarist so that she can finally go crazy writing, singing, and booking gigs with rubyrough.
Horst has learned how to get by on 37 seconds of sleep a night so that he can spend countless hours turning knobs and pushing faders to perfect the soundscape for rubyrough’s sophomore album (still yet to be named).

The new album is coming together well – for the first time the duo has been in the same room while writing songs together (their debut album, REALTIME, was written between cities, timezones and continents). The difference is clear: the new songs are spontaneous, satirical, and reflect the duo’s humor and joy in making music while retaining the beauty and eerie strangeness that marked their first release.

At least that’s the way rubyrough spent the holidays: hard at work and hard at play.

Between rehearsing for their live program, reviewing the latest mixes for their new album, and having intense discussions about what the new album should be called, they also managed to go nuts eating Christmas goodies which resulted in a sugar high photo shoot. The results? Posted on Facebook.

To celebrate the June kick-off of our 2011 Summer Street Tour our label VierSieben Records is offering the live and “unplugged” version of our newest song.
